"After Earth" is that the latest effort from the infamous director and stars father-son pair, can and Jaden Smith. The project and its sci-fi story have remained largely beneath wraps, however with San Diego Comic-Con round the corner, a politician plot description has surfaced (via /Film) within the programming schedule for the convention.

In once Earth, one thousand years once cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind’s new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (played by can Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, able to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (played by Jaden Smith). When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai’s craft, they crash-land on a currently unfamiliar and dangerous Earth.
